Fairchild Guide to Palms
Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden is a leading center of palm research, horticulture, and conservation. Our scientists have been growing and studying the world's palms for over 70 years. We have built a large and diverse collection of living palms, a library of data and images, a herbarium of dried palm specimens, and a bank of palm DNA. We have a wealth of information on growing and conserving palms.
This guide includes Fairchild's palm horticultural data, image library, and listings of living plants, herbarium sheets, and DNA samples. These data are provided to support global efforts to conserve, study, and appreciate the diversity of palms.
The Institute of Museum and Library Services and the National Science Foundation (Award #0515683) support this project.
