Acanthophoenix

1 species. This is a beautiful palm from the Mascarene Islands of the western Indian Ocean. It has golden brown leaf sheaths, and its leaves have long black spines that decrease in number as the palm matures. It is a good choice for ornamental landscapes in South Florida.
